Kyle’s commitment to vigorously helping people in need began long before he became an attorney. Kyle’s journey to criminal defense started in college while pursuing his undergraduate degree in Law, Economics, and Public Policy at the University of Washington, Bothell. There, he began working as a case manager at Friends of Youth advocating for unhoused children in the King County Metro Area. His experiences at work fed his desire to help others and drew him to law school where he pursued his J.D. at the American University Washington College of Law. While in law school, Kyle interned with the Baltimore City’s Youthful Defendant Unit representing children charged as adults before working with the Washington D.C. Public Defender Service. There, he honed his advocacy skills and learned how to manage client needs and advocate fiercely on their behalf.
After graduating near the top of his class, Kyle took those skills back to the Pacific Northwest when he joined the King County Department of Public Defense, fighting on behalf of his clients in a wide variety of cases. Kyle fought tirelessly on behalf of clients charged with everything from simple misdemeanors to complex violent felonies. Whether it be talking a client through their case, litigating a motion in court, or negotiating with a prosecutor, Kyle takes pride in being cool, calm, and collected in the most stressful situations.
Kyle has spent his entire career defending the rights of his clients, and he brings that experience to PLG. Kyle understands what you are going through, and he knows how to help.
